# How to create multiple unique discount codes on top of Kite discounts

 This guide explains how to create a base discount in the Kite app and then use a separate third-party app to generate a large number of unique, single-use codes for that offer. This is ideal for creating vouchers or running large-scale promotions.


### Part 1: Create the Base Discount in the Kite App

First, you need to create the main discount rule that all the unique codes will follow.
1. In the Kite app, start a new promotion using the **Custom Discount Builder**.
2. Select the **Discount code** method.
3. Enter a **Promotion Name** that will serve as the prefix or base for your bulk codes (e.g., `200-voucher`).
4. Define what the discount applies to. For a general voucher, you can select **"All products"**.
5. Set the **Discount Type** to a fixed amount and enter the value (e.g., `$200`).
6. Ensure the discount is set to apply to the entire cart (e.g., by unchecking any "applies to each item" boxes).
7. Configure any other settings like scheduling, then click **Save**.

### Part 2: Generate Unique Codes in a Bulk Discount App

Now that you have the base discount, you can use a bulk code generator app to create the unique codes.
1. Open your preferred third-party bulk discount code generator app from the Shopify App Store.
2. Look for an option to generate a new set of codes for an **existing Shopify discount**.
3. Search for and select the base discount you created in Part 1 (e.g., `200-voucher`).
4. Configure the generation settings, such as the number of unique codes you want to create and the character limit for each.
5. Click the **"Generate"** button.
6. Once the process is complete, you can download the list of unique codes, typically as a CSV file.

You now have a list of unique codes ready to be distributed to your customers. Each code will provide the `$200` discount that you configured in the Kite app.
