How to add automatically add free gift on checkout

This guide explains how you can automatically add a free gift to your checkout. By setting up a specific rule, a gift will appear in the customer's order summary once they meet predefined criteria, such as a minimum spending amount.

1. Create the Free Gift Rule

First, you need to create and configure the rule that will trigger the free gift at checkout.

• Navigate to the "Free Gift on Checkout" feature and give your rule a name (e.g., "FG on Checkout").
• Establish the eligibility condition. This can be based on spending a certain amount (e.g., ₹200), purchasing a specific product, or buying from a particular collection.
• Select the product that you will offer as the free gift.
• Configure the additional settings. You can choose to automatically remove the gift from checkout if the eligibility criteria are no longer met, prevent adding the gift at checkout if the same item is already in the customer's cart, customize loader text, and set up customer eligibility rules (e.g., customer tags, country).
• Save the offer.

2. Add the Rule to Your Checkout Page

With the rule ready, the next step is to connect it to your store's checkout page using its unique ID.

• After saving the rule, click Copy ID to copy the unique identifier for your offer.
• Go to your Shopify Checkout editor.
• In the editor's left-side panel, scroll to the bottom and click Add app block. Select the Free Gift app.
• Click on the newly added Free Gift block to open its settings.
• Paste the copied ID into the Checkout ID field.
• Click Save in the top right corner.

3. Verify on Your Storefront

To confirm the changes, simulate a customer purchase to ensure the free gift is added correctly.

• Go to your online store and add products to your cart to meet the condition you set in the rule (e.g., a cart total over ₹200).
• Proceed to the checkout page. You should see that the free gift has been automatically added to the order summary, completing the setup.
