How to Apply Discounts to Products with a Specific Subscription Name or Type
This guide explains how to create a promotion that applies only when a customer selects a specific subscription frequency for a product (e.g., "weekly delivery" but not "monthly delivery").
1. Identify the Exact Subscription Plan Name
First, go to a product page on your store. Find the subscription option you want to target and copy its exact text. For example: Deliver every week 10% off
.
2. Create a New Promotion
In the Kite app, begin creating a new campaign. This example uses a Tiered Custom Discount, but the rule can be applied to other campaign types.
3. Set the Subscription-Specific Rule in Advanced Settings
- In the discount's Advanced settings section, select the condition "product has subscription".
- A sub-rule dropdown will appear. Choose "subscription name is".
- In the text field, paste the exact subscription plan name you copied in the first step.
4. Configure the Discount Conditions
Set up the requirements for your discount. For instance, you can create quantity-based tiers:
- Tier 1: If the cart has a minimum quantity of
2
of the subscription product, apply a10%
discount. - Tier 2: If the cart has a minimum quantity of
3
, apply a20%
discount.
5. Save and Test
- Click Save to activate your promotion.
- Go to your store and select a product with the targeted subscription plan.
- Add the required quantity to your cart (e.g., 2 items).
- Verify in the cart that the correct tiered discount has been applied, but only for the specific subscription plan you selected.
