How to create Free Gift on Checkout (with Discount code) [Only for Shopify PLUS]

To offer a free gift that is added at checkout only when a customer applies a specific discount code, follow these instructions.

1. Create the Free Gift Rule

1. Navigate to the Free Gift on Checkout setup.
2. Give your promotion a name (e.g., "FGOC DC").
3. Set the trigger type to Discount Code. This will automatically generate a discount code for this offer.
4. Under the "Issue Gift On" section, set the eligibility condition. For this guide, we will use spending x amount and set it to ₹200.
5. Select the product that will be given as the free gift.
6. Review and configure additional settings as needed, such as customer eligibility and scheduling.
7. Click Save to create the offer and the associated discount code.

2. Add the Rule to Your Checkout Page

1. After saving, click the Copy ID button and select the "Checkout" option to copy the rule's unique identifier. Make sure to also copy the newly generated discount code to use for testing.
2. Navigate to your Shopify Checkout editor by going to Settings > Checkout and clicking Customize.
3. At the bottom of the editor's left-side panel, click Add app block.
4. Select the Kite Free Gift Setting block to add it to your checkout page.
5. Click on the newly added block to open its settings.
6. Paste the offer ID you copied earlier into the Checkout Extension ID field.
7. Click Save in the top right corner.

3. Test the Offer on Your Storefront

1. Go to your online store and add products to your cart that meet the spending condition (e.g., a cart total over ₹200).
2. Proceed to the checkout page.
3. Enter the discount code you saved from Step 1 into the discount code field and apply it.
4. Verify that the free gift is now automatically added to your order summary.
