How to Set Up an Automatic Free Gift with an Opt-Out Option

This guide explains how to create a promotion that automatically adds a free gift to a qualifying cart, while also giving customers the flexibility to remove the gift and claim it back later if they change their mind.


Steps to Configure the Promotion


  1. Start a Free Gift Promotion
    • In the Kite app, create a new "Free Gift with Purchase" campaign.
  1. Set the Rule and Select the Gift
    • Define the condition for the offer (e.g., select "Spend X amount" and enter ₹100).
    • Choose the product you want to offer as the free gift.
  1. Enable Auto Add with Opt-Out
    • In the promotion type section, set the main behavior to Auto add.
    • Find and check the box or enable the toggle for the "opt out of free gift" option.
  1. Save the Promotion
    • Click Save to apply your settings.


How It Works for Your Customers


  1. When a customer's cart meets the condition you set (e.g., exceeds ₹100), the free gift is automatically added to their cart.
  2. If the customer does not want the gift, they can simply remove it from the cart.
  3. After the gift is removed, a "Claim" button will appear in the promotion's widget on the page.
  4. If the customer changes their mind, they can click this "Claim" button to add the free gift back to their cart.
