How to Set Up Static Buy X Get Y Offers in Kite App

This guide explains how to set up a Static BOGO offer. Unlike standard BOGO offers that require customers to browse and add items manually, this creates a special widget that adds the required product and the discounted reward (Y) to the cart with a single click.

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Create the Promotion

  • Navigate to Create New Promotion.
  • Select "Buy X, Get Y" Static BOGO.
  • Click Create and name your campaign (e.g., "Summer Bundle Deal").

2. Select Offer Type Choose the structure of your deal:

  • Buy X, Get Y: The customer buys Product A and gets Product B (a different item).
  • Buy X, Get X: The customer buys Product A and gets another unit of Product A (the same item).

3. Configure the Rules

  • Customer Buys (The Condition):
    • Select the product the customer must purchase.
    • Set the Quantity (e.g., set to 2 if they must buy 2 units of X).
  • Customer Gets (The Reward):
    • Select the product (Y) they will receive.
    • Set the Quantity (e.g., 1).
    • Set the Discount (e.g., 50% off or Free).

4. Widget & Redirection Settings (Crucial Step) Because this is a "Static" offer, the button behavior is important.

  • Customize Widget: Edit the button text (e.g., "Get Bundle" or "Add to Cart"), titles, fonts, and colors.
  • Redirect Behavior: Scroll to the bottom to decide what happens after the customer clicks the button:
    • Redirect to Checkout: Sends the user directly to the payment page with the items.
    • Redirect to Cart: Adds the items to the cart and sends the user to the cart page (useful if you want them to keep shopping).

Technical Notes

Static vs. Dynamic BOGOStatic (This Guide): Best for landing pages or specific product sections. It forces the specific combination (e.g., exactly 2 of X and 1 of Y) into the cart instantly.Dynamic: Best for general browsing. It waits for the customer to shop naturally and applies the discount when the cart matches the rules.
Buy X, Get X Shortcut If you select "Buy X, Get X" at the start, the app will automatically sync the "Customer Gets" product to match the "Customer Buys" product. You do not need to select the product twice.

Troubleshooting

  • Wrong Items in Cart? Check your Quantity settings in the "Customer Buys" section. If you set it to 2, the button will always add 2 units of the main product.
  • Redirecting to wrong page? Double-check the Checkout Direction setting at the bottom of the editor. Ensure you saved your changes after switching from "Checkout" to "Cart."
