How to set up the Free Gift Multiplier for Automatic Promotions

This guide explains how to use the Free Gift Multiplier feature, which allows you to automatically add a free gift multiple times within a single order as customers repeatedly meet the required conditions.

Scenario 1: Applying a Multiplier to a Single Rule

Use this method when you have one condition that should add the same free gift repeatedly, up to an overall limit.

  1. Create an automatic free gift promotion and set your condition (e.g., "when a customer buys a specific product").
  2. Select the free gift to be added.
  3. Scroll down and switch on the Free Gift Multiplier toggle.
  4. Ensure the option for "Only one gift for all rules..." is selected.
  5. In the Maximum Quantity of Free Gifts field, enter the highest number of free gifts a single order can receive (e.g., 20).
  6. Click Save.

Result: If the condition is to buy Product X to get Gift Y, a customer buying 3 of Product X will automatically receive 3 of Gift Y in their cart, up to the maximum quantity you set.

Scenario 2: Applying Multipliers to Multiple, Separate Rules

Use this method when you have different rules and want to set individual maximum limits for each corresponding free gift.

  1. Create an automatic free gift promotion and set up your first rule and its free gift (e.g., for buying a snowboard).
  2. Add a second rule with its own separate condition and free gift (e.g., for spending a certain amount on a specific collection).
  3. Scroll down and switch on the Free Gift Multiplier toggle.
  4. Select the option for "Multiple gifts, one for each rule."
  5. A Maximum Quantity input field will now appear next to each rule. Set the individual limits as needed (e.g., a maximum of 5 for the first rule's gift and 10 for the second).
  6. Click Save.

Result: A customer can earn free gifts from both rules in the same order. If they meet the first rule 6 times, they will receive only 5 free gifts (respecting the limit). If they meet the second rule 12 times, they will receive only 10 free gifts.
