How to Setting up a FREE gift on Kite (Manual) - Free gift can be claimed by clicking on a button

This guide explains how to create a free gift offer where customers must actively click a "Claim" button to add the gift to their cart after meeting a specific condition.


Prerequisite: Enable the Theme Extension


Before you begin, ensure the Kite app's theme extension is enabled in your Shopify theme customizer. This is necessary for the claim widget to appear on your storefront.


Steps to Create the Manual Free Gift


  1. Create a Free Gift Promotion
    • In the Kite app, start a new "Free Gift with Purchase" campaign.
    • Give your promotion a name (e.g., Test).
  1. Set the Gift Rule
    • Define the condition customers must meet to qualify. For example, select the rule "Spend X amount" and enter a value like ₹100.
    • Choose the product you want to offer as the free gift.
  1. Choose the Manual Method
    • In the "Promotion Type" section, select Manual.
    • If you have created multiple gift rules, choose how they should be applied (e.g., "Only one gift from all the rules").
  1. Configure the Widget
    • In the display settings, choose where you want the widget to appear (e.g., Cart page and All product pages).
    • Edit the widget's style and text. For example, you can change the button text to Claim your gift and customize its colors and fonts.
  1. Save the Promotion
    • Review your settings, including Discount Combinations if needed, and click Save.


How It Works on Your Store


  1. When a customer visits your store, they will see the gift widget, but the claim button will be inactive.
  2. Once they add enough items to their cart to meet your condition (e.g., spending over ₹100), the "Claim" button will become active and clickable.
  3. When the customer clicks the button, the free gift product will be added to their cart.
