How to setup a buy 3 get 1 offer on Kite

Here is a step-by-step guide to setting up a "Buy Three, Get One Free" (B3G1) promotion, where the discount applies to the least expensive item from a specific collection.

1. Create the BOGO Promotion


  1. From your Kite dashboard, navigate to the Create Promotion section.
  2. Select Buy X, Get Y (BOGO).
  3. Choose the Quick BOGO option for this setup.
  4. Give your promotion a name (e.g., "Buy Three, Get One Free").
  5. Choose whether the discount should be applied Automatically or require a Discount Code.


2. Configure the "Customer Buys" Condition


This is the "Buy 3" part of the rule.

  1. In the "Customer Buys" section, set the quantity to 3.
  2. For the "Product Type," select Specific Collection.
  3. Choose the collection you want the offer to apply to (e.g., "Hydrogen").


3. Configure the "Customer Gets" (Y) Condition


This is the "Get 1 Free" part of the rule.

  1. In the "Customer Gets" section, set the quantity to 1.
  2. For the "Product Type," select the same collection (e.g., "Hydrogen").
  3. Set the discount to 100% to make the item free.


4. Set Usage Limits and Rules


  1. Usage Limit:
    • To apply the discount only once per order, set the limit to 1.
    • To make the offer repeatable (e.g., "Buy 6, Get 2 Free"), set the limit to a high number (e.g., 1000).
  1. Apply Discount To: Select Least Expensive from the options.
  2. Discount Widget: You can disable the widget if you only want the discount to apply at checkout.
  3. Save your promotion.


5. Verify on Your Storefront


  1. Go to your online store and navigate to the collection you selected (e.g., "Hydrogen").
  2. Add four products from this collection to your cart.
  3. Proceed to the cart or checkout page. You will see a 100% discount applied to the least expensive of the four items.


How to Apply to the Same SKU (Advanced)


If you want the offer to apply only when a customer buys 3 of the exact same product (same SKU) to get the 4th one free, you must use the Advanced BOGO option instead of Quick BOGO.

In the "Advanced BOGO" setup, you would set the "Get Y" product condition to Same as Product X.
