How to setup limits on Free Gift offer usage [only for Shopify PLUS]?

This guide explains how to limit a "Free Gift on Checkout" offer, either by setting a total usage limit for the entire promotion or by restricting it to one use per customer.

1. Create the Free Gift Rule

1. Navigate to the Free Gift on Checkout feature.
2. Give your rule a name for reference (e.g., "FGOC 1, 2, 3").
3. To make the "once per customer" limit available, set the gift adding method to trigger with discount code.
4. Select the product you will offer as the free gift.

2. Configure the Usage Limits

1. In the rule's settings, locate the usage limit options.
2. Set the total limit for how many times this gift can be claimed overall (e.g., 3).
3. Enable the limit it to once per customer option.
4. Click Save to apply these rules.

3. Add the Rule to Your Checkout Page

1. After saving, click Copy ID and select the "Checkout" option.
2. Go to your Shopify Checkout editor.
3. Add the Free Gift app block (extension) to your checkout page.
4. Paste the copied ID into the app block's settings.
5. Click Save.
