How to setup tiered order discounts using Goal based progress bar
This guide explains how to set up a tiered order discount that rewards customers with higher percentage discounts as they reach specific spending milestones. This promotion includes a progress bar to visually encourage customers to increase their cart value.
1. Initialize the Promotion
- Navigate to Create Promotion.
- Select Combine Discount and then choose Goal-based combined discount.
- Choose Multi goal to create a tiered structure.
- Give the promotion a name, such as "goal-based order discount".
2. Configure the Goals and Tiers
- Set Calculation Logic: Choose the before discount option. This ensures the goal progress is calculated based on the cart subtotal before any other discounts are applied.
- Select Goal Basis: Choose Cart Subtotal (you can also base this on quantity or specific products).
- Define Tier 1:
- Select Order discount as the reward type.
- Set the threshold amount to $100.
- Set the discount value to 10%.
- (Optional) Add a label like "Order 10".
- Define Tier 2:
- Select Order discount again.
- Set the threshold amount to $200.
- Set the discount value to 20%.
- (Optional) Add a label like "Order 20".
- Define Tier 3:
- Select Order discount again.
- Set the threshold amount to $300.
- Set the discount value to 30%.
- (Optional) Add a label like "Order 30".
3. Save and Verify
- Click Save to activate the promotion.
- Click Test run store to view the progress bar on your live site.
- Add items to your cart to verify that the progress bar updates and the correct discount (10%, 20%, or 30%) is applied as you hit each spending goal.
