How to setup tiered order discounts using Goal based progress bar

This guide explains how to set up a tiered order discount that rewards customers with higher percentage discounts as they reach specific spending milestones. This promotion includes a progress bar to visually encourage customers to increase their cart value.

1. Initialize the Promotion

  1. Navigate to Create Promotion.
  2. Select Combine Discount and then choose Goal-based combined discount.
  3. Choose Multi goal to create a tiered structure.
  4. Give the promotion a name, such as "goal-based order discount".

2. Configure the Goals and Tiers

  1. Set Calculation Logic: Choose the before discount option. This ensures the goal progress is calculated based on the cart subtotal before any other discounts are applied.
  2. Select Goal Basis: Choose Cart Subtotal (you can also base this on quantity or specific products).

  1. Define Tier 1:
    • Select Order discount as the reward type.
    • Set the threshold amount to $100.
    • Set the discount value to 10%.
    • (Optional) Add a label like "Order 10".

  1. Define Tier 2:
    • Select Order discount again.
    • Set the threshold amount to $200.
    • Set the discount value to 20%.
    • (Optional) Add a label like "Order 20".

  1. Define Tier 3:
    • Select Order discount again.
    • Set the threshold amount to $300.
    • Set the discount value to 30%.
    • (Optional) Add a label like "Order 30".

3. Save and Verify

  1. Click Save to activate the promotion.
  2. Click Test run store to view the progress bar on your live site.
  3. Add items to your cart to verify that the progress bar updates and the correct discount (10%, 20%, or 30%) is applied as you hit each spending goal.
