How to use Custom Discount Builder on Kite
This guide explains how to use the Custom Discount Builder to create a single campaign that contains multiple, independent discount rules under one promotion name.
1. Start Your Campaign
- In the Kite app, select the Custom Discount Builder.
- Give your campaign a name (e.g.,
custom-discount-test
). - Choose your method: Automatic or Discount code.
2. Configure Your First Discount Option
Each set of rules within the builder is called an "option".
- Give this first option a unique title (e.g.,
Option 1 CDB
). This is the message customers will see when this specific discount is applied. - Set the Eligibility Rules for this option (e.g., "Cart subtotal is at least
₹100
"). - Define the Discountable Products for this option (e.g., items from the "Hydrogen Collection").
- Set the discount value (e.g.,
10%
off).
3. Add and Configure a Second Discount Option
- Click the button to add a new option to the campaign.
- Give this second option its own title (e.g.,
Option 2 CDB
). - Set its unique Eligibility Rules (e.g., "Cart subtotal is at least
₹200
"). - Define its unique Discountable Products (e.g., items from the "Oxygen Collection").
- Set its discount value (e.g.,
20%
off).
4. Add Global Settings (Optional)
You can add extra eligibility rules that apply to the entire campaign (all options). For example, you can limit the promotion to a specific market by adding a rule like "Market code is IN" for India.
5. Save and Test
- Click Save.
- Go to your online store to test each rule independently:
- Test Option 1: Add a product from the "Hydrogen Collection" with a subtotal over
₹100
to your cart. Verify that the 10% discount is applied. - Test Option 2: Clear the cart, then add a product from the "Oxygen Collection" with a subtotal over
₹200
. Verify that the 20% discount is applied.
