How to use Custom Discount Builder on Kite

This guide explains how to use the Custom Discount Builder to create a single campaign that contains multiple, independent discount rules under one promotion name.

1. Start Your Campaign

  1. In the Kite app, select the Custom Discount Builder.
  2. Give your campaign a name (e.g., custom-discount-test).
  3. Choose your method: Automatic or Discount code.

2. Configure Your First Discount Option

Each set of rules within the builder is called an "option".

  1. Give this first option a unique title (e.g., Option 1 CDB). This is the message customers will see when this specific discount is applied.
  2. Set the Eligibility Rules for this option (e.g., "Cart subtotal is at least ₹100").
  3. Define the Discountable Products for this option (e.g., items from the "Hydrogen Collection").
  4. Set the discount value (e.g., 10% off).

3. Add and Configure a Second Discount Option

  1. Click the button to add a new option to the campaign.
  2. Give this second option its own title (e.g., Option 2 CDB).
  3. Set its unique Eligibility Rules (e.g., "Cart subtotal is at least ₹200").
  4. Define its unique Discountable Products (e.g., items from the "Oxygen Collection").
  5. Set its discount value (e.g., 20% off).

4. Add Global Settings (Optional)

You can add extra eligibility rules that apply to the entire campaign (all options). For example, you can limit the promotion to a specific market by adding a rule like "Market code is IN" for India.

5. Save and Test

  1. Click Save.
  2. Go to your online store to test each rule independently:
    • Test Option 1: Add a product from the "Hydrogen Collection" with a subtotal over ₹100 to your cart. Verify that the 10% discount is applied.
    • Test Option 2: Clear the cart, then add a product from the "Oxygen Collection" with a subtotal over ₹200. Verify that the 20% discount is applied.
