Kite App: Getting Started


This guide provides a quick tour of the Kite dashboard to help you navigate templates and select the right promotion type for your store.

The Dashboard & Templates

When you first log in, you will land on the Dashboard. While the exact layout may vary depending on your setup stage, you will see a list of Discount Templates as you scroll down.

  • Purpose: These templates come with pre-configured settings to help you launch common offers quickly without starting from scratch.

Creating a New Promotion

To view the full suite of available offers, navigate to the Create New Promotion tab. Here, you will find specific categories tailored to different strategies:


1. Free Gift Category Ideal for "Gift with Purchase" campaigns. Options include:

  • Automatic Addition: Automatically adds the gift to the cart when rules are met.
  • Multi-Selection: Allows customers to choose their preferred gift from a list.
  • Goal-Based: Progress bars that unlock gifts at specific spend thresholds.

2. Buy X Get Y (BOGO) Use this for classic "Buy One, Get One" deals. You can set conditions based on:

  • Collections
  • Product Types
  • Product Tags

3. Other Promotion Types

  • Tiered Discounts: Offer higher percentage off for higher spend (e.g., Spend $100 get 10%, Spend $200 get 20%).
  • Free Shipping: Create standalone free shipping offers.
  • Custom Discount Builder: A "blank canvas" for advanced merchants who want to build a specific discount structure from the ground up.

Technical Note: The Native Engine Advantage
