How to create an Upsell block on Checkout page?
Explore the process of setting up an upsell on the checkout flow. Upselling can involve one or multiple products and offers customers the option to add these to their checkout with a simple click. Additionally, discounts can be applied to these upsell products, enhancing the appeal.
To begin, navigate to the checkout wizard app and select create extension. When asked to choose where the extension appears, select
during checkout and then hit
continue. In the increase revenue tab, various upsell designs are available. Preview each design by clicking on
the design itself. Choose a preferred design and select
create block. Here, assign a
name for the upsell block. This section also allows the addition of
rules to determine when to display the upsell block. Rules can be based on products, collections, customer tags, discount codes, cart currency, and more. If no rules are added, the block will be visible to all customers.
Next, create an offer or select the products to be shown as upsells. Choose multiple products in the specific upsell product selection by selecting browse products and then selecting the
products to
display.
Alternatively, use AI-based recommendations, which utilize Shopify's algorithm to suggest related items based on the first line item, last line item, most expensive, or least expensive item in the cart. There's also an option to upsell an existing item in the cart at a discount. For this example, choose two products
to upsell.
Add a discount to the upsell if desired. This can be a percentage-based discount, adjusted in the discount value section, or a fixed price discount. Decide whether to apply the
discount to only the upsell product or the entire cart. Control the discount code application through the designated section.
Offer a free shipping discount by setting a minimum cart value and selecting the countries to which the discount applies.
For this example, apply a percentage discount to the upsell product at a minimum cart value of a hundred.
Advanced configurations allow the display of the original compared price, removal of products already in the cart, and auto-addition of products to the cart.
Next, customize the
text size and style, the
button style, and the
colors of the free shipping bar if offering free shipping. Set the
title and subtitle for the block and control all other text on the upsell block from this section.
Finally, in the publish box section, assign a location for the block. For this example, set the location as three. After completing these steps, click save. Once saved successfully, navigate to settings and enter the
checkout section. Add the checkout to either a live checkout or a draft checkout by clicking on
customize next to the profile to be edited. Then, click
on add app blog and select
checkout upsell.
Enter the same location value added in the app, in this case, three.
Drag and drop the upsell to the desired location. Preview the upsell in the checkout editor by
clicking on preview. After making all changes, click save. To publish, if it's on a draft checkout, click publish. If it's on a live checkout, it will be visible once the checkout process begins.
For a three-page checkout, change the position from the first page to
the
second or third
page and add a block separately on each page if needed.
